The focus of the programme is on acquiring competencies for organising, designing and managing highly complex nursing situations across various care settings. In addition, students develop a professional stance towards perspectives, roles and concepts of the nursing profession — for example competencies for interdisciplinary collaboration or the motivation to help shape the transformation of nursing healthcare. The programme focuses on three areas of expertise in particular: (1) Nursing-specific and nursing-scientific expertise, aimed at handling highly complex nursing situations in acute and long-term care. (2) Expertise in counselling and instruction, covering direct nursing situations as well as work in interdisciplinary teams and in further education and training. (3) Systemic and interdisciplinary expertise, conveying competencies to increase effectiveness in organising and shaping nursing and therapeutic processes, e.g. in family-related long-term care.
