University Council
The University Council comprises nine members (Section 12 (1) of the BHH Constitution). Four members each were appointed by the BHH Senate and by the Senate of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. The ninth member was appointed by the eight members of the University Council. The tasks of the University Council are set out in Section 84 of the Hamburg Higher Education Act.
The current members of the University Council are:
- Chair: Prof. Dr. Konrad Wolf (former Minister for Science and Culture, Rhineland-Palatinate)
- Deputy Chair: Prof. Manuela Rousseau (Deputy Chair of the Supervisory Board of Beiersdorf AG)
- Stephanie Anders (Officer for Education Policy, Hamburg Chamber of Crafts)
- Amrey Depenau (Spokesperson, Vocational Schools Section, Education and Science Union, Hamburg Regional Association, GEW)
- Andre Goldenbaum (Board Member of the Employers' Association of Northern Germany, UV Nord)
- Armin Grams (Managing Director, Hamburg Chamber of Commerce)
- Prof. Dr. Sonke Knutzen (Head of the Institute for Vocational Education and Didactics, TU Hamburg)
- Prof. Dr. Uwe Schaumann (Professor of General Business Administration, in particular HR Management and Development in SMEs, BHH)
- Dr. Yvonne Scupin (Head of Vocational School Cooperation Management, BHH)
The Authority for Schools, Family and Vocational Training may send a representative as an advisory member without voting rights to the meetings.
